When standard auger rigs hit impenetrable rock, basalt, or rhyodacite, core barreling is the essential engineering solution. By cutting a clean annular ring rather than pulverizing solid rock, our rigs reduce ground resistance, cut drilling time, and lower linear-metre costs.

When drilling with a standard auger isn’t viable, care barrelling is usually the operation that saves the day. With less surface area to cut thanks to the relatively thin walls of the barrel, resistance is greatly reduced and the shaft can be drilled quicker and more efficiently.
